The Intergalactic Registry maintains unique codes for many things in the universe, to allow for frictionless communication, trade and collaboration. A designation starting with IGR indicates such a code.

The different registry categories are:

IGRbld - Building, Facility, Factory, Mine

IGRprd - Product, Blueprint

IGRmcp - Municipality, Colony

IGRorg - Organization, Empire

IGRrnd - Research and Development, Scientific Project

IGRrps - Research Personnel, Scientist

IGRsdn - Ship Design

IGRvsl - Space-going Vessel

IGRflt - Fleet, group of vessels under same command.

IGRwrd - World, Planet

IGRsys - Star System
