Players have the option to put ships up for sale. These are planet-wide but not universe-wide. The purchased ships will be put into the Single Vessels queue and the amount transferred immediately. You are required to price them at least 10% of the construction cost. This is to prevent someone outfitting a new player with 10,000 ships for free.
Also beware, as some of the veterans actually have billions of credits and can afford to buy your brand-new, highly-prized battleship that you are trying to show off by placing it on the market.
Another caveat against overpricing your ships. Ship upkeep is charged on any overprices ships. If you were to put a ship on the market for one trillion credits to avoid the possibility that someone might buy it, you will be charged one billion credits in upkeep for that single ship.
