Terraformers are used to adjust planet temperature, atmosphere and weather to ideal levels. They are costly to build and even more costly to operate and are generally only worth it if a planet is colonized by multiple players.

Every day each terraformer attempts to change the planet aspect that you have set in your local laws.
Its ability to create change is defined by:
- How bad the situation is. (terrible conditions are easier to terraform than something that is near ideal)
- The amount of workers your terraformer has.
- The terraformer quality vs the planet Terraforming Difficulty (you can see that at your terraformer with the color coding)

Once it manages to change the planet it will see how much it can change.
The amount of change it generates is between zero and a maximum value determined by:
- How bad the situation is.
- The terraformer quality.

Finally, the most change generated by any terrafomer at that planet for that planetary aspect is used to change the planet.

As mentioned earlier, each colony can choose whether it wants to change atmosphere, weather, or temperature. So multiple players on the same planet can each alter a different stat.

Once a planet has been terraformed, terraformers are no longer necessary and can be demolished to recover some resources.
