The Crimson Catalyst cannot be researched - it is found through exploration in the same manner as other Crimson Prints.

The Crimson Catalyst is a hybrid Tungsten, Diamond and Gold processor. It can be constructed with very simple resources, variants of which are available on virtually every world and as such requires no materials to build. It is however both costly and inefficient, often used to gather a small amount of materials on new colonies from which to then construct more efficient production buildings.
