You can exact specific laws, policies and other forms of government regulation at each of your colonies. Though they are more than simple laws we will refer to them as Local Laws as they are in one way or another legislative and only apply to the one colony. Their descriptions hint at what they do but are in no way guaranteed to encompass all of their effects. Know that each does not carry only benefits, there is always a cost attached. Each has their benefits in the right situation.
A notable one is "Redevelopment", which is almost a necessity when trying to urbanize a rural colony, as very little new land gets zoned as possible density increases.
1. Minimum Wage has an overall negative impact on how economically viable it is to rely on the private economy.
2. Redevelopment allows your people to quickly reallocate land, which uses money from your people, lowering their wealth, but doesn't impact other stats directly.
3. Martial Law actually kills a portion of the criminals. So if you have a lot of crime you will lose a bunch of those criminals in the stabilization process.
4. Combat Readiness significantly increases able crew but also significantly lowers the efficiency of doctors, police, entertainers, and entrepreneurs/retail.
5. Food Stockpiling simply means you won't sell food to the people. It doesn't do anything else.
