Population is the number of colonists in your colony. Population is one of the most important aspects of the colony as it defines income and potential production output.

Growing your population quickly requires good government and high quality of life to attract immigrants. Density and as such urban development also has a large impact. Many people prefer population centers for good access to services and job opportunities, though extremely dense overcrowded cities may have the opposite effect.
