A mission type in which a fleet will attack another fleet or a colony.


This is how to attack other fleets. Your fleet will transfer to the other fleet's location and then engage it in combat. How long and hard your fleet fights depends on its stance. Note that you cannot attack fleets owned by players you have a defense treaty with.


In the event of attacking a colony the fleet will not attempt to take over the colony, but will instead just damage it. The fleet will destroy defending fleets and ground defenses, as well as other buildings. When all defending units are destroyed, the fleet will then kill colonists. If you have transports in the assault fleet, they will pirate resources from the colony.

Because Civil Defense will respawn at the end of the battle, assaulting a colony is rarely used; almost all players will opt to conquer the colony instead.
