The Command Frigate is a unique small capital ship that mounts no offensive weapons. It carries a significant number of batteries, but is comparatively weak as a combat vessel. Its primary role is command and control, and surveillance. No other ship, beyond a relatively stationary space station matches its scanner abilities. The Command Frigate can enhance the scan range of a fleet, but is usually deployed as a flagship to help cloak a fleet's properties from a sensor net. It is also the go-to hull for sensor net listening posts.

The Command Frigate has a unique ability that, during a battle, it will send out an EMP wave, destroying all the enemy probes present in the theater.
