The Crimson Gunboat is a small attack vessel and the only small vessel capable of mounting batteries.

Crimson Gunboats are effective in almost all scenarios. Armed with cannons and due to more layout capacity for protection, they can fill a bomber role with better survivability against both batteries and fighters, while being able to return fire against attacking fighters. They are less cost efficient than the more specialized small vessels, but provide more firepower per carrier slot and require less extensive mission planning.
