Colony facilities are government owned and operated places of business, and the most effective way to influence different aspects of your colony. When you build one, some of your colonists are hired to work there and you will have to pay their wages. The building type determines what they spend their time doing, and how well they do it.

Build them using the "Construction" button on a colony page.
