Resources are raw materials found on a planet. They are sometimes interchangeably used with materials, which are the product of resources and used in construction.

Fertility is also listed under a planet's resources. It is a critical factor in the production of wood, plastics (biopolymer) and food.

While some technology requires uranium in construction, its most common application is fuel. refueling ships always requires uranium, sometimes in significant amounts.
